Writing your PhD at the Historical Seminar

Are you considering a PhD in history? Are you wondering whether to enroll in our graduate program in history or go for an individual doctorate instead? We would be pleased to help you.
Admission requirements: PhD candidates need a MA degree in history or history-related disciplines and a research project and CV that spark one of our professor’s interest in your subject and capabilities.
There are three ways to get your PhD in history at the University of Zürich (UZH):

Individual Doctorate (12 ECTS credit points)

Graduate Program in History (30 ECTS credit points)

Interdisciplinary Graduate Schools/PhD Programs (12 to 20 ECTS credit points)
